Learn about the New West Partnership Trade Agreement and how it can simplify business.
The New West Partnership Trade Agreement is a trade relationship between Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Manitoba joined the trade agreement on January 1, 2017. The agreement makes it easier for corporations, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships to operate across provincial borders. Registration and reporting requirements are simplified or eliminated to make business expansion more cost-effective. Businesses work through their home province registry, which facilitates out-of-province registration in the neighbouring provinces. Streamlined extra-provincial registration processes between Manitoba and the other provinces will go into effect on or before January 1, 2020.
If the home province of your corporation, limited partnership or limited liability partnership is British Columbia or Saskatchewan, contact your home registry office for information and registration forms. BC Corporate Registry Saskatchewan Corporate Registry
